Tips on Prayer, Meditation and Calling in What You Want
When times are great and when they are difficult, I have turned to prayer, meditation, or what I could call a gratitude practice. I do this because I don’t want to, in vain, take the moment for granted. I also want to embrace it and acknowledge that all that I have is not of my own doing, but of that of a Universe, environments, people, predecessors or ancestors who have cleared the path for me and helped me to see what needed to be done and how to do it.
But there are times when for whatever reason, I have had a hard time praying. For those of you who also struggle at times, remember, “this too shall pass”, the good and the bad. In the spirit of thinking in terms of “Time, Power, Respect”:
- Sit still and first acknowledge the greatness of the Universe, something that is so hard to get a grasp on;
- Ask that the path be clear or cleared, or that you be directed to the right path for you;
- Think of all that you can be grateful for, even in the hardest moments;
- Celebrate and give thanks to all of those things;
- Say out loud what you love about yourself, what you accept and what you are forgiving yourself for;
- Acknowledge and send gratitude to your peers, family, strangers or anyone that may be struggling whether you are on good terms with them or not;
- Ask for protection and anything you may need - clarity, humbleness, strength. And as you ask for these, believe that the Universe will not fail you.
Using and saying affirmations throughout the day that have come up in prayer/meditation has worked wonders for me.
I hope this helps.
